Let's Go Canes

A friend of Jay's offered him 4 tickets to a Carolina Hurricanes Hockey game so the 4 of us along with our friend Jeff (because Jack gets in free) headed out on a Saturday evening to the Hockey Game. I wasn't sure how Jack would be because he only took one short nap today. Well halfway into the 1st period he fell asleep in my arms even with all the yelling and cheering around us. He slept for the rest of the 1st period and the 1st intermission as well. Then he woke up and was really cute pointing at the game and clapping when everyone else did. He wanted to sit on his own so we let him sit on the steps for a bit and he was very happy about that. Here are a few pics!

It doesn't matter where we are if he's tired he will usually snuggle up and take a snooze!

Easter Egg Hunt

One of the local Mom's groups we are a part of had a big Easter Egg Hunt in a field at a park nearby. We spread a ton of eggs out into 3 separate sections to break up the age groups so the 6 and 7 year-olds weren't in the same area as the lil 1 year-olds. It was so cute watching all the lil ones get so excited about all the Easter eggs. Jack was on a mission when he started the Egg Hunt and was running from Egg to Egg picking them up while most of the other kids his age would pick one up and sorta inspect it. I guess he gets the point of getting as many as u can! After the Egg Hunt we had a snack of the variety of snacks and treats that everyone brought to share. All in all we had a blast being around a bunch of other kids and mommies.

Airport Observation Deck & Spence's Farm

We had quite a busy day today starting it off with running some errands and then Sean's Soccer game! He did a great job and as usual played Goalie for half of the game! Then we headed over to the airport Observation Deck because a week before that Jay had taken the boys there one evening and they had a blast so we decided to take Jack back to kill some time before Virginia's (Sean's Sister) Birthday party at Spence's Farm in Chapel Hill. Jack had a blast seeing the airplanes and pointing at them and waving to them. Now when there is a plane in the sky Jack points to it and gets very excited!!

Look Dad a Plane!!

We left the airport and headed out to Chapel Hill for Virginia's 4th Birthday party at a Farm there. The kids started off by picking weeds and stuff from the garden to feed to the chickens. Jack thought it was so much fun picking weeds and putting them in his basket and then getting to feed the chickens. Of course he wanted to chase the chickens all over the place and giggled the entire time. Then they got to get egg's from the chicken coop and put them in the basket-mommy did most of that work otherwise we'd all be covered in egg!! Then, were the Pony Rides and Jack had a blast. Jack sat on the horse all by himself (well i held onto him to make sure he stayed on the horse and didn't fall). It was such a fun day and great seeing Jack do all these things that the big kids were doing making me realize how fast he's growing up!

Jack chasing the Chickens...I had to keep him close or there might have
been a Jack vs. the Chicken fight because all he wanted to do was try and grab them!

A Birthday party isn't complete without some cake!

17 Months Old Already

I cant believe that next month my little boy will be one and a half already!! Time sure does fly! He's continuing to bud into a little person and is so much fun to be around! He has been more miserable lately because he's working on getting his molars right now. He's saying more things now and is really trying to talk a lot more now and sometimes gets frustrated when he cant get the point across! His new words are bye bye, papa, ball, to name a few. Last week when Jack was giving Kisses to Daddy and Mommy he decided that mommy and daddy needed to give each other kisses by pushing our faces towards each other. It was so cute and he does it quite often now and just melts both of our hearts. We have had some great weather lately and its going to continue and Jack has had a blast being outside playing at the park and going for Wagon Rides. He sits so proudly in the wagon and waves to all the passing cars...he's quite social! We are getting ready for a busy next month or so of birthday parties, Easter, and a trip to the Zoo in April that I'm sure he will really enjoy because of his love for animals!

Happy Valentine's Day

We enjoyed a quiet day at home on Valentine's Day with the 4 of us just hanging out and spending time together and then going to 5:30 mass that evening and meeting up to sit with Uncle Jonathan! The previous week I had found a sweater in some stuff my mom had gotten out of their attic that was mine and the sweater belonged to my dad and was made by his grandmother. The sweater looks so adorable on Jack and fits him great so when we were at my parents the other day I surprised my dad with putting it on Jack!! So of course we brought it home for Jack to wear and it looks so cute that I couldn't resist taking pictures. Plus I made a photo collage for my grandmother of him in it with some other pictures that Im going to send her as a belated Valentine's Gift!! So here are some pics of him in the sweater and runnin around in his PJ pants that I pulled up so they didnt keep falling down :)

16 months old Already!

As I sit here watching my little boy looking at books and running around the room playing with his toys I cant believe he's already 16 months old today. I realized I haven't updated much lately about the things Jack is able to do and doing so this post will be full of what Jack is able to do and up to right now. Time has flown especially the past 4 months since he turned one. He's a very active and outgoing little boy and keeps us on our toes all the time. With me still at home with him we try and keep as busy as possible so he can be around other kids and get out and do things. We have playdates with other kids around his age at each others houses or at places like Marbles Children's Museum in downtown Raleigh. We got to Storytime/Mother Goose Rhyme time every Thursday morning for about 15 minutes of Rhymes and songs and he really enjoys that is is interacting a lot more now then he was this time last year. We have been attending an open gym playtime at a local park where they have slides, balls, lil ride on cars, etc for the kids to play on. We cant wait for the weather to get nice out so we can start enjoying all the parks around us with him and see all the fun he will have now that he's so mobile and understands things like slides, etc. He's starting to grasp a lot of things going on around him. He is very good at following directions (when he wants to) and knows what most of the things we say to him are whether or not he can same them himself. He's very big into animal sounds and parts of the body right now. He knows the sounds for a pig, cow, dog, and bear/lion/tiger and is very proud of that. He is also very good at pointing to his head, tummy, tongue, toes, eyes, ears, and nose(there are a few that he doesn't get every time but there are others that he's awesome at). Jack does the signs for please, more, thank you and doesn't usually have to be asked to say please but sometimes we have to remind him about that thank you part. He's working on trying to say more words lately but right now he says Mama, Dada, Sawn(Sean), was dat (whats that), side (outside). The cutest two things he does are if he goes poop in his diaper and u ask him if he did he runs right to his bedroom ready to be changed (id love it if this means he will be an early potty trainer), and the other cute thing is he is trying to sing the Elmo's World song and sorta hums/makes noises to the tune of it!! Well that was a long post but I thought Id update everyone on what Jack was up to now cuz I've been bad at doing a monthly post at what Jack can do and is learning like I had originally planned to. I'm hoping to get better about doing that on the 9th of every month and about being better at updating the blog on time and not having to play catch up. We are looking forward to the spring and getting out and about as much as possible as family.
